I love this post. Do you have some suggestions of your own? For example, if I usually order a vodka martini, I could instead try a...?

I would start by trying a gin martini, because it has more flavor, and I love gin. If you don't like the powerful juniper flavor some gins have, you can always try a different gin, like Plymouth. (Although a lot of bars might not have it.)
